Green and Brown “Tartan” Tie

Tartan designs originated amongst the clans of the Scottish Highlands. Each Tartan came to represent an individual clan and although the English tried to ban the wearing of Tartan after the battle of Culloden in 1746 its remains as distinctively Scottish as ever.

The design is printed on a heavy weight 40 Momi silk that has been brushed to ensure an extremely soft handle

This is a threefold untipped tie which has been entirely sewn by hand. The pure wool interlining assures a perfect shape and feel. A natural pearl button holds the tipping secure.

Behind all color variations of our winter collection are the shades that are peculiar of Como Lake and its mountains in autumn.
